Caspar Alpsten, 16 became Britain’s youngest self-made millionaire last week after closing a Series A for his recruitment firm GetWorkQuick.com at a valuation of £1.6 million. Mr. Alpsten retains a 70% stake in the business.
GetWorkQuick.com is a recruitment platform that connects potential applicants to employers for free on both ends. This enticing offer has caused a flurry of both applicants and employers to sign up to the platform. Showing very healthy figures in its first four quarters of operation. The purpose of the raise is to enable the company to build the tech behind the business as currently the leads are passed from applicant to employer using basic email marketing software.
Despite its apparent success, it has recently been alleged that the company sells its leads to other recruitment companies. In addition users have complained of an outdated interface, lack of customer service and the website crashing. These problems could hold the business back from its potential of being one of the largest recruitment sites in Britain.
Although the company has only been running for a year it has been shortlisted for numerous regional business awards.
