Patrick Levi Baglino (born January 31, 2002), better known by his stage name Notion,
is an artist, producer, and director from Park City, Utah. In 2020 he founded his own
company, happy I’m sad.
Which has now became a recognized production company and clothing brand. Notion has worked with artists such as Quavo, Bobby Shmurda, Derek Hough, and Jilly Anais. As well as record labels such as Atlantic Records,
ROCNATION, and Sony Music.
Less than two years ago Notion was just gearing up to graduate high school. Directly after graduating Notion who was 18 at the time moved to Los Angeles to further his career in the Music Industry.
So how did this teen scale a production company from nothing to producing music videos that have racked up almost ten million views? Notion experienced his youth in a way that was unique, to say the least.
He juggled his passions while working different hourly labor jobs. At the same time, he managed to
stay in school and at one point was even playing football along with music and education.
Notion explained “I used to get up for school at like 6:30, then straight to the field after, then as soon as practice was over I’d head to the restaurant and work the closing shift… I remember I’d be falling asleep in class I was so
exhausted” (Notion) Before Notion moved to Los Angeles two years ago, he spent as much time in Seattle
as he could.
Notion recently recorded a full length project with Milo Eubank at Lost Boys Studios. The projects include features from Sam Lachow, Chase Henny, and Koba. Along with several music videos that were all produced by Notion’s company happy i’m sad.
Notion didn’t stem from a film background like most video Producers and Directors do.
It wasn’t until he moved to LA that he really even began to learn about the film side of
the industry on a more complex level.
Notion explained that he was able to learn the skill of producing simply by observing every single detail of a production. “Jumping into the deep end and just hoping you can swim is honestly the best way to learn a skill
quickly, at least in my opinion.
You have to fight when you do this but if you have enough motivation and discipline you will learn to float before the rest of them even touch the water” (Notion).
The 19 year old is without a doubt is causing vibrations in the industry. With his 20th
birthday coming up on the 31st of January he calls it the end of an era. As the rapper
enters into his 20s he sees this turning point as the start. He is is entering into his
rookie year as
