Spotify, the music platform, has decided to remove Neil Young’s music and started progressing towards the process. In an open letter to his manager, which was later deleted, Young urged the company to remove Rogan’s podcast or his music.
He said that he wants Spotify to know that he immediately wants to remove all his music from the platform. It could be either Rogan or him on Spotify. The music streaming platform has denied bringing down Joe Rogan’s podcast after the singer’s objection that it has been trying to spread the wrong information about the Coronavirus vaccine. According to the New York Times, Rogan is one of the most used products for media on this globe.
From the start of the pandemic, Rogan had a lot of keen followers who were constantly deceived because of his misleading information in the podcasts. A representative from Spotify said that they are trying to make all the music and audio content in this world accessible for their users.
Still, with this, they must balance the security of their users and give freedom to music and audio content makers. They have complete rules for the content on Spotify. From the start of Covid, around 20000 podcasts have been taken down by the team related to misleading information about covid. Spotify’s representative also mentioned that they are not happy that Neil has decided to remove his music from the platform. Still, they are looking forward to welcoming him again on Spotify.
