MOEISALIVE , Where are you from?
- Dallas-Fort Worth Texas
- What are Three qualities that describe you:
- Creative, Hard Working , and Outgoing
- What is it creatively that you are working on?
I’m currently focusing on perfecting my craft and becoming an artist with an original sound. I plan to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone to unlock it.
Who were the most influential people in your life?
In terms of music ? Michael Jackson. His status was almost unreachable because of how unique he was. He established himself as an icon in the industry just by being himself, and that’s what I plan to do.
What is inspiring you right now consistently to work on your endeavors?
Honestly, it’s the desire to take advantage of the opportunities that America offers that not a lot of people will get to have nor experience. I come from an immigrant family from Sudan and seeing what my mother sacrificed to make a better life for us here made me not want to take any of it for granted.
What piece of advice you want others to take back from the work you display?
Be original. I think a lot of people that have the talent to blow are more focused on making what’s hot and trendy, rather than focusing on creating their own sound. I think you can get attention from following a wave. But if we’re talking going #1 in the world, I feel like you got to be different and deliver if you want that level of status and respect.
How have you overcome struggles to be where you are at now?
My mother and her family moved here from Sudan. We weren’t broke thankfully, but we could only afford the bare minimum. Besides barely being financially stable it was hard for my siblings and I to be able to learn ourselves at a young age because of the difference between cultures. It made me feel a little out of place when trying to connect with others. I felt like what made me who I am wasn’t socially accepted.
As a business owner, artist, and worker, what are some obstacles have you had to overcome to get where you are at?
A Lot of rejection but it took a positive toll on me. Since I already had the passion for creating music, any rejection I received Iwas forced to perceive it as constructive criticism because I was only working to get better, not to go viral. I didn’t get a lot of spiteful hate when I was trying to make a name for myself, but when I did I knew it was just a reflection of how they feel about themselves so it wasn’t getting in my head.
What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?
I’m currently working on my first official tape that will be on all platforms this year
