23rd March of 1957 was the beautiful day when Amanda Plummer came into this world. She has no siblings. Due to her parent’s divorce, her maternal grandparents took responsibility for bringing her up.
She completed her studies in New York at the United Nations International School. And after finishing her studies, she decided to take training in acting. So she took acting training from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater. After taking training from the theater school, she performed in plays such as ‘A Month in the Country’ and ‘Artichoke.’

Although she has worked a lot, the most remembered part of her was in ‘The Fisher King.’ It was a comedy-drama film. Terry Gilliam directed it. This film was nominated in several categories in the Oscar but managed to win a single award.

In 1981 she made her debut film, with a role in the movie ‘Cattle Annie and Little Britches, and in the same year, she played a young nun role who killed her infant in the movie “Agnes of God’s play.” Amanda won a Tony Award in this movie also due to her unique performance.
She was seen in some of the plays like ‘You Can Never Tell,’ released in 1986. The following year, Amanda acted in the play called ‘Pygmalion. Apart from the earlier mentioned films, Abundance, The Lark The Two-Character Play, released in 2013, The Night of the Iguana in 2017, are some of the movies Plummer did.
