The US actor and comedian Ben Stiller met with president Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Refugees Day . Ben Stiller has worked as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR since 2016 and as a part of his role, he visited war-struck zones in Ukraine and Poland. On his visit to Ukraine, he also met with the USA ambassador in Kyiv and discussed the needs of 12 million displaced people as a result of war.
Ben Stiller showed immense gratitude and appreciation to president Zelensky for his courage and devotion and called him his “hero”. He also complimented his previous acting career and stated that it’s inspiring that an actor can turn out to be a leader like him. In return, president Zelensky gave a humble and respectful response saying that people like Ben Stiller make a difference by not making the world forget the importance of talking about war-struck zones and the repercussions that are followed in the form of refugees and destruction. Ben stiller also emphasized the realization of the level of destruction after one has seen it with his own eyes and responsibly conveying it to the world.

Ben Stiller later in his tweet again mentioned President Zelensky and expressed his gratitude by stating his solidarity with the people who were forced to flee Ukraine. He hoped that his visit will bring more attention to the world’s humanitarian crises.
