Having a well-defined strategy is crucial for the success of any business. Without it, any company can drift away from their clients, and become less competitive.
According to Kyle Favel of Favel Transportation, it is not necessary to develop a complex plan to achieve success.
He says, “At Favel Transportation, we believe that our plans must be well-thought and well-executed, and for that reason, we try to keep things as simple as possible.”
Favel Transportation started as a single truck operation hauling livestock between Western Canada and the Northern United States in 2004 and has now grown to a fleet of thirty trucks,
“We had a clear objective from the beginning – never sacrifice quality for quantity. I am proud to say that Favel Transportation has kept its promise to itself, our staff as well as our clients,” says Favel.
The company specializes in the transportation of living, bulk, and refrigerated commodities.
In Kyle Favel’s opinion, the key to Favel Transportation’s success has been its people-centric outlook on business.
“It’s all about people. We have a very low turnover rate in our office as we have focused on hiring and retaining the right people,” he says.
For its part, Favel Transportation makes sure that its employees are provided with the necessary resources to master their tasks and succeed in their roles.
“We make sure to reward action-oriented people, those who can make decisions and take chances,” says Kyle Favel.
Another important aspect to the growth and continued success of any business is its technological capacity.
Favel Transportation makes sure to carry very modern hog and cattle trailers. The company uses these to provide transportation for cattle from Western Canada to Eastern Canada as well as the United States.
“Our trailers are five years old or newer,” says Kyle Favel.
Refrigerated transport is another area of business for Favel Transportation. They provide transport services for food-grade products from Western Canada to all over the United States. Favel says, “We have developed a robust network in the States and our clients trust us to bring back fruits and vegetables to supply Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.”
He believes that what sets Favel Transportation apart is their use of satellite tracking and constant communication between dispatch and drivers.
“Customer service is one of our priorities and we make sure to keep them up-to-date about the status of their valuable cargo,” he adds.
Additionally, Favel Transportation goes above and beyond by providing their clients with capacity solutions over the thirty trucks at their immediate disposal, if needed.
“We make sure the shipping goals of our clients are met,” informs Favel.
He says that they are fully transparent with their customers and communicate with them in case of any emergencies or roadblocks (quite literally!).
Favel Transportation prides itself in being able to maximize their payload and keep the cost of shipping affordable for their customers.
Favel says the company makes sure to keep their drivers in mind.
“Our Wilson and Triax trailers are known for their quality, durability and ease of use. They make for an enjoyable ride for our employees, and that is very important to us” adds Favel.
