Since the release of the Sojourn single in 2013, people have been gravitating towards it. Different from the typical reggae sounds, fusing with hip hop and R&B twist, displaying beautiful sensational instrumentation with strong lyrical content and masterfully produced by John Allen aka Sir Rafael the hitmaker.
Sojourn became the title of Michael Dawkins‘s sophomore album which was released in 2014. The album peak at number 5 on the UK reggae chart in 2018 and still growing strong.
Reggae legend Ken Boothe calls the Sojourn album a timeless musical composition. Every song on the album is strong enough to release as a reggae single, so far 3 single was released from the Sojourn album which made it to the British Top 10 reggae chart, He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother, Rain From The Sky and Sojourn which peak at number 1 this year 2022 on the UK Top 100 reggae chart.
