The Pakistan Super League (PSL) kicks off its seventh season on Thursday, January 27. After the 6th T20 Tournament was moved to the UAE halfway because of COVID-19, the 2022 tournament will now be held again in Pakistan, and the tournament will comprise two phases. After the 6th version of the T20 competition was moved to the UAE Covid-19, the 2022 release gets back to Pakistan, which will be played in two stages.
Total 34 matches will be played in the whole tournament. In the first phase, out of 34 first 15 matches will be played in the National Stadium of Karachi from January 27 to February 9. 19 matches will be held from February 10 onwards at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore the second phase.
Hence the final T20 match of PSL 7 will also be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 27. The new flood of Covid cases across Pakistan has constrained the PCB to restrict the audience in Karachi to 25 percent, while a decision regarding the audience in Lahore is yet to be made.
The one-month T20 tournament started with last year’s champions Multan Sultan and Karachi Kings on Thursday at 7:30 PM IST. Six teams are participating in this tournament, including Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, and Islamabad United, apart from Karachi Kings and Multan Sultan. Every team will face each other twice in the tournament. PSL matches will be broadcasted and live-streamed on many platforms all over the globe.
