There are numerous dietary supplements on the U.S. market, making it increasingly difficult for consumers to distinguish one good product from another. For this reason, MAGISNAT asked Professor Tommaso Beccari—Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science and Nutrition Section, University of Perugia (Italy)—for an evaluation of their new dietary supplement, called Garlive Oral Spray.
This study is not intended as a product certification, but just as a personal opinion.
Several aspects of this supplement emerged from this study. In particular, no allergens are present in this dietary supplement: In fact, it is naturally lactose-free, gluten-free, and free from sesame and sesame oil.
Other important aspects of Garlive Oral Spray are the absence of coloring and flavoring in its formulation and the presence of few sugars (100 g of spray contain 40 g total sugars) and fats (100 g of Spray contain less than 0.5 g total fats).
Its composition and amount of natural molecules should not be overlooked. In 1 milliliter of spray (which corresponds to the daily dose of 8 sprays) are contained 20.30 mg of total polyphenols, including 1.02 mg of Hydroxytyrosol.
Hydroxytyrosol is a very important olive tree polyphenol, which plays a role in preventing the process of viral endocytosis and also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity, as revealed in several studies conducted by MAGISNAT researchers:
Furthermore, from an initial check of the supplements on the U.S. market, it would appear that only a very small fraction of them (only a few dozen) contain olive tree polyphenols.
GARLIVE Oral Spray is also very good value for money. The product is sold on the market at a price of $24.90 (20 ml of solution, suggested dosage is 1 ml per day).
Also, MAGISNAT’s form of communication is deemed as transparent. It uses several disclaimers when needed, such as “None of the reported studies can be used to claim the properties of dietary supplements. Dietary supplements do not possess any therapeutic or preventive property“, and, when it reports studies conducted on the product, they always specify that “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This dietary supplement is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease” and “Dietary supplements do not possess any therapeutic or preventive properties.”
In conclusion, MAGISNAT’s goal is to bring quality products to the market that benefit consumers.
