Toto Steubesand’s humble beginnings began in Germany, where he spent his childhood years with his family. His upbringing instilled in him ambition, which led to Toto starting a business with his family in the field of industrial laundry after high school. His success in industrial laundry, combined with his mastery of the craft, inspired him to attend textile cleaning school, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree.
Toto Steubesand was known for his loyalty, as he worked for many years alongside his father until his father’s company went out of business in the early 1900s. As his journey progressed, Toto ultimately decided in 1995 to join the German Armed Forces as a dedicated member of the Navy. He served for approximately nine years protecting his country, and had several roles and responsibilities while working on ships and boats during that time.
During his period in the German Armed Forces, Toto Steubesand specialized in ACINT (Acoustic Intelligence) and HUMINT (Human Intelligence) (Human Intelligence). After many hours of hard work and dedication, he was eventually promoted to field HUMINT leader, followed by tactical HUMINT leader in the international Special Forces community. Toto Steubesand distinguished himself among his colleagues and continued to rise as time passed. Toto rose through the ranks in 2012 and was assigned to the Anti-Terrorism/Anti-Piracy Class for Staff Officers in Pensacola, Florida (NITC Netsafa intern. Trainings center). Toto was deployed to Africa, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Europe 15 times while in the Navy. He left the Navy after many years of devotion to his country and dedicating his life to service.
Despite suffering from PTSD as a result of his military service, Toto demonstrated that he was a true soldier mentally by going on to pursue new careers. In 2013, Toto Steubesand became the CEO of ZST Security Service Consulting and Technology GmbH in Bordesholm (near Kiel) in northern Germany, and eventually became an executive partner with the company 7 years later. Toto and his team established the International Academy for Security to advance his business practices with ZST (IAS). About one hundred people a month were trained by Toto and his colleagues at the academy to use firearms and rifles safely and effectively in preparation for high-stakes close protection jobs.
Toto Steubesand was approached by the German Task Force of Marine Security about a leadership position due to his accomplishments and notoriety. He was appointed chairman of the BDSW organization.
In 2016, Toto, a man with many talents and interests, opened a martial arts school. His school, AbwehrKraft, is located in Kiel and teaches close combat and weapon use to military personnel, police officers, and other authority figures all over the world.
In addition to his business endeavors, Toto has experience in the entertainment industry. In 2021, he was cast in the AMAZON PRIME GERMANY series “Celebrity Hunted Germany.” Although the show is currently on hiatus due to the 2020 pandemic, Toto may appear on it again in 2023.
Toto Steubesand has established himself as a go-to authority on military security and is in high demand as a speaker, trainer, and coach.
