Uganda is affected by floods nowadays, many parts of Eastern Uganda are affected by torrential rains resulting from a series of floods.
The death toll was estimated by 24 people killed by floods as per officials of Uganda.
Initially, the killing was about 10 people on Sunday but it got increased by Monday by 24 people killed by floods resulting in torrential rains.
The death toll has been continuously rising since then.
Spokesperson Irene – told reporters that so far rescuers have recovered 21 dead bodies from Mbale and 3 dead bodies from Kopcharwa.
She spoke to a reporter that rescuers, truck with flood assistance supplies are on their way to rescue the affected people and people displaced in the affected areas.
According to the weather forecast team, the torrential rains came after a lengthy drought in the country.
These drought ruined the crops in the fields due to the scorching sun.
Eastern region of Uganda is more exposed to flooding after heavy rains but the whole country of Uganda is at risk to natural disasters.
These floods haven’t been stopped till now – many people got affected, many of them got displaced in the distressed area.
So much destruction has been caused to the country of Uganda due to the floods after heavy rains.
As per the reporters about 300,000 people of Uganda have been affected by floods and land sliding in Bududu and Sironko – regions in Uganda.
The reporter also added that about 65,000 people have been displaced after floods.
