About Regal Cinemas
Regal is one of the largest cinema chains in the United States. Headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, it operates hundreds of theatres across the country and is part of the UK-based Cineworld Group. Over the years the company has run theatres under several names, including Regal, Edwards and United Artists, and it offers premium formats such as IMAX, 4DX and ScreenX at selected locations.
Going to the movies in North Hollywood
North Hollywood, in the San Fernando Valley, is a convenient place to catch a film. Moviegoers in the area can choose between Regal locations and other cinemas in the surrounding Valley and Hollywood neighbourhoods. Programmes, formats and amenities change over time, so it is always worth checking the Regal website or app for the latest showtimes and the exact facilities at your chosen theatre before you go.
What to expect at a Regal cinema
- Reserved seating: most Regal theatres let you pick your seats when you buy tickets online, so you can arrive closer to showtime.
- Comfortable seats: many locations have been upgraded with recliner seating.
- Concessions: classic popcorn, candy and soft drinks are standard, and some theatres offer expanded menus.
- Premium formats: depending on the location, you may find IMAX, RPX, 4DX or ScreenX screens for big releases.
- Accessibility: theatres provide wheelchair-accessible seating, and many offer assisted-listening devices and closed-captioning equipment on request.
Saving money on tickets
Regal runs a free loyalty programme, Regal Crown Club, that earns points on tickets and snacks which can be redeemed for rewards. The chain has also offered a monthly subscription, Regal Unlimited, which can be good value if you go to the cinema often. Discounted matinees and special weekday deals are also worth looking out for.
Tips for a better visit
- Book online for new releases and weekend evenings, which often sell out.
- Arrive a little early to collect snacks and find parking.
- Check the age rating and run time so you can plan your evening.
- Read the theatre’s policies on outside food and drink before you go.
