You may often hear about dementia? Well, Dementia is a term used to describe a set of symptoms that affect memory, thinking, and social skills so severely that they interfere with daily life. Dementia is usually associated with memory loss, but memory loss has different causes.
Although memory loss itself does not show dementia, it is often one of the earliest signs of the disease. Members of parliament will hold a joint debate on 10th February, Thursday, in the House of Commons on dementia research in the United Kingdom.
This debate was proposed by Debbie Abrahams, who is the Member of Parliament from the Labour party for Oldham East and Saddleworth and has this post from 13th January 2011. Every week on Tuesdays, the Backbench Affairs Committee meets to consider requests for debate from any backbench Members of Parliament on any subject. The Backbench Business Committee gives opportunities to backbench members of Parliament to hold discussions of their own choice.
It became the primary commercial enterprise committee of any type to be set up through the House of Commons. The committee must then decide how to allocate limited parliamentary time for that purpose. Committee meetings are now open to the public and can be viewed on Parliament Television. The Backbench Business Committee continues to accept applications for discussion from MPs. A full transcript of the debate will be provided 3 hours after the debate of Commons Hansard.
