Tiffany Alyssa has been making people laugh online for more than a decade. We spoke to the content creator about how she got started, the music she loves and the message she wants to share with her loyal followers.
What first got you into your career?
“From a young age, I realised how good it felt to make people smile. I’d do anything dorky I could to make my siblings or parents laugh. At school, entertaining people became part of my personality. As soon as I discovered YouTube, I started creating content to show my friends and make them laugh.”
Who inspired you to make content?
“I remember watching Smosh videos in seventh grade. I loved how simple and funny their content was. I’d get so excited when they posted something new, and I wanted to be on the other side, creating it.”
What music do you listen to?
“Don’t give me control of the speakers at a party unless you want to hear my middle school iPod playlist! I love old Usher, Ying Yang Twins, Beyoncé, Trey Songz and Pretty Ricky. But I listen to everything: R&B, rap, country, oldies, rock, techno. There’s a right time for every kind of music.”
What is your creative process like?
“I’m very spontaneous now. I used to write out all my video ideas and scripts, but I’ve found that natural reactions are what people love most. I like taking a small idea and building on it with my personality.”
Who would you like to collaborate with?
“I don’t have one specific person in mind. There are lots of creators I enjoy watching, and I’d love to work with anyone who can match my energy.”
What message would you give your fans?
“Thank you so much for always being by my side. Some of the most loyal, amazing people have been watching me for more than ten years and have seen me at my worst and my best. Being online this long, there have been times I had to step away for my mental health, or was forced off platforms after being hacked or wrongly banned. Somehow my followers always find me again, and they always have my back.”
