September 2022, Denver, Colorado. Mauricio Rios, known as PhreshFilmz, is a multi-talented entrepreneur working in videography, artist management, music production, clothing and investing. Originally from the Dallas, Texas area and now active in Denver, he is building a reputation for hard work and creativity.
A busy schedule
“I’m working on a big concert in Denver on 4 November,” he says. “I have my own tape featuring artists, producers and beats I’ve put together, I offer camera services, I manage my own artist and I have my own brand.” The November show was his first time hosting an event, and he is also championing his artist, Trizzy, whose music can be found under @itstrizzyhoe on major platforms.
Creative, ambitious and loyal, PhreshFilmz stays positive and is regularly seen at shows doing what he loves.
Motivation
“I just want to be in a better position than I was before,” he says. “My mom inspires me to keep going.”
What obstacles have you faced as a business owner?
“I’ve had to deal with fake friends and people who didn’t appreciate my work and time. I learned a lot about keeping things strictly business.”
Who has influenced you the most?
“My mom, definitely. I was also always around people rapping and producing, so my surroundings led me to shooting videos, managing artists and now hosting my first show.”
His advice
“Be consistent and believe in yourself, even if the people closest to you don’t. It takes time and patience; not everything comes overnight. I just keep going and don’t let anything bring me down. I keep my head high, wish for better things in life and believe in good karma and hard work.”
