Spoiler warning: this article discusses events from Kengan Omega chapter 69.
Kengan Omega, written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon, continues the brutal tournament fights of Kengan Ashura. The Kengan Association versus Purgatory clash has produced some of the series’ most intense rounds, and the fight between Rihito and Falcon left readers on the edge of their seats going into chapter 70.
Recap: Chapter 69, “Owl Talon Kick”
Rihito, the Kengan fighter famous for a grip strong enough to tear through iron, used his Razor Edge technique to drive his hand into Falcon’s torso, leaving his opponent badly wounded and bleeding. Falcon, however, still had a trick up his sleeve. He used a forbidden move, the Owl Talon Kick, launching himself into the air and striking down into Rihito’s back with his feet.
The chapter ended with both fighters on the brink of collapse. The question became simple: who would fall first?
Predictions for Chapter 70
- A battle of endurance: both fighters were badly hurt, so the round looked likely to be decided by whoever could stay conscious longer.
- Rihito’s toughness: Rihito has a history of refusing to go down, as seen in his earlier clash with Kuroki Gensai. Kuroki himself seemed confident that Rihito would pull through.
- Purgatory’s reputation: many fans felt Purgatory’s fighters had been made to look weaker than their Kengan counterparts. A strong showing from Falcon would help balance the tournament.
Why This Fight Matters
Purgatory fighters came into the event with detailed intel on their Kengan rivals, so they have to rely on strategy and specialised techniques to gain the upper hand. Rihito, meanwhile, represents raw power and stubbornness. The contrast makes this one of the more interesting match-ups of the inter-organisation battle.
