Spoiler warning: this article discusses events from One Piece chapters 1006 and 1007.
About One Piece
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is one of the most successful and longest-running manga ever. It has been serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1997, and its anime adaptation has been running since 1999. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as they search for the legendary treasure known as the One Piece, encountering incredible adventures, terrifying villains and unforgettable places along the way.
Recap of Chapter 1006, “Hyogoro the Flower”
- Hyogoro’s stand: the old yakuza boss Hyogoro, along with X Drake and the other yakuza leaders, protected Chopper while he worked on a cure for the Ice Oni virus spreading through the castle. Hyogoro entrusted his hopes to his comrades as the infection took hold of him.
- Marco holds the line: Marco, the former first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, held off two All-Stars at once, remarking that fighting two enemies with billion-berry bounties is no easy task. He also stopped Queen from attacking Hyogoro.
- Momonosuke missing: Kaido’s side realised that Momonosuke had escaped with Yamato and Shinobu.
- Carrot falls: Charlotte Perospero managed to defeat Carrot even while she was in her Sulong form.
Spoilers and Expectations for Chapter 1007
Following the usual schedule, early spoilers and the chapter title appeared from Korean and Japanese sources a few days before release, with raw scans following shortly after. These early leaks are unofficial and often contain translation errors, so it is best to wait for the official English release to understand the chapter properly.
Fans expected the chapter to continue the many simultaneous battles across Onigashima, with Chopper’s race to stop the Ice Oni outbreak and the hunt for Momonosuke at the centre.
