An American airline plane headed for London diverted on Wednesday from mid-trip because of a disturbance related to the mask on Wednesday. American Airlines said in a report that flight 38 of American Airlines going to London (LHR) from Miami (MIA) got back to MIA because a passenger violated regulations and denied fulfilling requirements of the federal mask.
They also said that at Miami International Airport, local police met the plane. The Miami-Dade Police Department told CNN that the airline called them a female passenger who refused to wear a mask. American Airlines flight bound for London returns to the gate in the middle of the flight due to mask rule violations. Detective A. Colome from the Miami-Dade Police Department said that when the plane came to the entrance, MDPD officials accompanied the traveler out of the helicopter without incident.
Then American Airlines staff handled the traveler administratively. As per the flight tracking website FlightAware, one hour and 48 minutes after its departure, the flight arrived back in Miami. Because of that incident, Boeing 777 was also stopped, with 129 passengers and 14 crew members on board. No passengers or crew members got harmed.
A representative from an American airline appreciated the professionalism of their team and apologized to their passengers for trouble. According to the information provided by the Federal Aviation Administration on January 18, there were 151 reports of raucous passengers this year. Of these, 92 are cases related to masks.
